3 Stages of Health: What are you paying for Wellness?

I see “Health and Wellness” as a series of stages: Wellness, In-Between, and Illness. They all cost you your time, but some cost a whole lot more!
-
In Wellness, we have available to us such gifts as Meditation, Yoga, Walking, and Tai Chi, to name a few. Each of these “daily practices” requires us to learn how to listen to internal news and catch any imbalances that our stressful lives are creating. When we make time for these practices, we are extending our sense of personal worth as well.
-
Unfortunately, our hectic lifestyles end up having more “doing” than “being”; because we all have to pay attention to “making a living”; “raising kids” or “handling our responsibilities”. This is when we need extra help to realign ourselves. For example, I find that getting a massage, receiving an acupuncture treatment, or going to the chiropractor are a few possibilities for working with my energy systems, that help me get back into balance. As before mentioned, these options cost me a bit more in time, energy, and money to get a sufficient supply of these services to upright my “at-a-tilt-ness” in life; but they are well worth the venture by my estimation!
-
Sometimes, though, all of our best intentions are not enough to keep us from experiencing disease and illness. And even if our insurance covers a triple-bypass, or a ruptured spleen, or cancer of any sort—it somehow just isn’t a complete comfort to hear that the bills are paid. We somehow know we have “dropped the ball” health wise; and this, I feel, is when we “pay” the most—in sadness, fear, regret, and downright loss of a very precious gift we were given from the get-go: a body to experience “Life” with other Magnificent, Incredible, Priceless people on a beautiful earth with incredible, diverse opportunities.
-
And whether you have had to deal with a life-threatening health issue all your life, for just a moment, or never; it is still an innate internal awareness of “gratitude” for this body that generates our actions toward health.
-
-
So where are you, in daily appreciation? Would you say that you are in Wellness, In-Between, or Illness? And what have you been paying for living this way? Probably more than you ever figured on.
-
As “all” ways—just a notion… JL
